The Zodiac™ dome provides tubes that are vinyl and permanently inflated for a permanent inflatable planetarium solution. The Zodiac™ door is a permanently inflated double airlock with two sets of swinging inflated doors for each airlock. Each of the two partitioned airlocks can be loaded with up to 15 visitors with one swinging door closed before the other is opened. Individuals can also go in and out without affecting the air pressure inside the dome. The dome screen attached to the top of the tube wall is inflated by a fan blowing air through a vent in the bottom tube. This positive pressure component keeps the air fresh inside the dome. A ropes system provided to stretch across the inflated interior walls to support the dome if the fan is turned off at the end of the day.
The Zodiac™ name comes from the Zodiac inflatable boat, which is made from the same vinyl as the tubes and door of the Zodiac™ dome. Zodiac™ domes are normally large domes from 7 to 10 meters in diameter. The dome screen is always black on the outside, but customers can select from a range of colors for the wall tubes and airlock swinging doors. The Zodiac™ dome travels in three parts: the dome screen, the tube wall, and the airlock door. About three hours are required for inflation and for takedown and folding.
